Soccer shooting drills are always a favorite with the players.
Teaching your players how to correctly shoot is a great way to score more goals.
Shooting requires a lot of repetition where it is from a long distance or from close range.
Players need to practice using different shooting techniques from different distances.
These soccer shooting drills will easily show you how you actively encourage your players to start shooting more.
You can also help them focus on their aim too.
The 2 main and most effective shooting techniques would be using the laces for power and the inside of the foot for placement.
Typically players will use their laces when they are shooting from distance.
To off teach this skill you can start by asking them to shoot the ball stationary and then progress it to a moving ball.
Players will usually use the inside of their foot when they are closer to goal and need to shoot the ball around the goal keeper.
Before you strike the ball make sure that you look up so your know where the goal keeper is.
You want to aim your shot in the corner of the goal as that is the hardest place for the goal keeper to reach.
When you strike the ball you want to lean forward, this will prevent your shot from going too high.
Follow through with shot, don’t stop when you have made connection with the soccer ball
